Sinus Infections The Size Of Golf Balls

Holy Golf Balls

One of the most rewarding moments of having large furry family members is finding them waiting by your window for breakfast. But one morning, Stryker greeted us with a lump on the left side of his face, and we were in total panic. It was the size of a golf ball! Was there a snake in the barn? A fight among friends? No - what we had was one massive sinus infection! Yes, horses get sinus infections, and they feel even cruddier than we do. Imagine having to bend down to the ground and eat grass all day with a pounding headache!

Nap time, All the time

After a few days of horse Tylenol and plenty of afternoon naps on the hill, Stryker was back to chasing the little guys again.

For those of you who didn't know, horses and donkeys do lay down to sleep. The first time you see it (or see all of them together laid out like pancakes), it's a little scary. But next to eating, napping like this is one of their favorite ways to spend the day.

Watch Stryker's coming home video.

"STRYKER GETS SO EXCITED ABOUT SHOULDER AND NECK MASSAGES. HE ROCKS BACK AND FORTH, MOVING HIS LIPS LIKE HE'S SINGING."

Gentle Giant

Look at the bum on this guy! Stryker's backside starts where our donkey's ears end. He's a BIG fella. When he first arrived (featured right), all the other animals couldn't stop standing back and staring.
